New Application Systems based on 5G&LPWA

Various applications of the next generation information network to support long distance and highspeed large capacity data by cognitive wireless network such as integration of 5G, local 5G, LPWA and the next WLANs are developed to realize applications such as EV based autonomous vehicle for residents and navigated vehicle for tourists and the evaluated places on emergency,

Wide Area Road State Information Platform

Since more than 60% area of Japan island is snow areas where the road surfaces are dangerous such as snowy, icy and whiteout in annual winter seasons, the number of the slip accidents increases as increase of aging drivers as well as abnormal weather conditions. In addition, the information network infrastructure in mountain areas are challenged environment where even though 3G or LTE network services are not available. Therefore, there is no transport means for vehicle to share road conditions with surround vehicles and road side stations. In order to overcome those inherent problems, a wide area road state information platform is designed and developed to provide quick and proper road state information and maintain safty and reliability of residents.

Resilient Disaster Information Networks

In order to recover just after occurrence of serious disaster, the communication lines should be alive and maintained to perform normal operations by multilink, multi-layered and multi-route functions or reconstructed. Using such network functionalities, we are developing more resilient disaster information network which can quickly grasp whole disaster states, keep resident’s lives and minimize the influence of disaster.
